Star Wars: The Force Unleashed je akční titul, jež se příběhově odehrává mezi filmy Star Wars: Episode III Revenge of the Sith a Star Wars: Episode IV A New Hope a uvede hráče do role záporňáka – učedníka Darth Vadera, jehož cílem je zbavit celou galaxii existence Jedi rytířů. Je přitom připraven čelit následkům svých činů, které budou mít dopad na budoucnost celé galaxie. Hra plně využívá tří klíčových technologií – Digital Molecular Matter (DMM) od spol. Pixelux Entertainment, Euphoria od spol. NaturalMotion a fyzikálního enginu Havok. Právě na komplexní implementaci všech tří technologií je postaven základ hry. DMM se například postará o maximální interaktivitu všech objektů, které se budou v klidu i při interakci s jiným objektem chovat stejně jako ve skutečnosti. Sklo se tedy bude tříštit jako sklo, dřevo se bude lámat jako dřevo a rostliny na planetě Felucia porostou, tak jak by rostly ve skutečnosti. Pak je tu technologie Euphoria, která zas všem živým postavám vtiskne umělou inteligenci, jež se postará o realistické a logické chování NPC postav. Ty se budou navíc moci přizpůsobovat aktuální situaci. To znamená, že budou každou situaci řešit trošku jinak a rozhodně ne podle daného vzorce. Hráč v roli hlavního hrdiny bude situace řešit s pomocí čtyř základních prostředků – sil. Jde o Force push (např. odhazování nepřátel v dál), Force grip (naopak, přitahování nepřátel a objektů k sobě), Force repulse (schopnost odrážet nepřátele a objekty – jakýsi štít) a Force lightning (ničení nepřátel i objektů s pomocí řízených úderů bleskem). Když se tyto schopnosti aplikují na prostředí a objekty ovládané Havok fyzikou a technologiemi Euphoria a DMM, tak z toho vzejde řada zajímavých situací. Hráč bude moci prohazovat nepřátele skrze objekty zcela nenaskriptovaně a náhodně, přičemž si bude muset dávat pozor na to, aby na něj třeba nespadla poškozená konstrukce. Všechny čtyři síly bude navíc možné kombinovat. Hráč třeba přitáhne nepřítele, podrží jej ve vzduchu, udeří do něj bleskem a pak s ním praští o zem. Během hlavního dobrodružství hráč narazí nejenom na postavy známé, ale i zbrusu nové, vytvořené právě pro příběh hry. Co se lokací týče, tak hráče čeká návštěva řady odlišných míst včetně planety Kashyyyk, TIE Fighter továrny, planety Raxus Prime, planety Felucia a dalších. Společnost Lucas Arts navíc slibuje, že rozhodnutí a činy hráče v různých situacích ovlivní další průběh hry, která bude disponovat několika odlišnými konci, jež prý otřesou řadami oddaných SW fanoušků.
