Ono se to nesnadno popisuje. Když vám řeknu, že je Gossip Girl dětinský kýč, asi si moc nepomůžu. Kdybych pokračoval tím, že je to jen natvrdlá romance, také se nikam nedostanu. A přece je GG chytlavější než Velmi křehká Rodinná pouta, Četnické humoresky, Ordinace v růžové zahradě a OC dohromady – počkat, také špatně. Ale ono to jinak nejde. Obrázky ze života newyorské smetánky mají jisté nepopsatelné kouzlo, díky kterému můžete ignorovat všechny kýčovité scénky a scénáristické kličky, zapomínat na románovost postav a po chvilce těm sympaťákům začít fandit. Ačkoliv jsou normálním lidem na míle vzdálení (asi takhle: outsider "D", který je v seriálu sociální spodinou, by v Čechách mohl hrát ve Vem si mě ;)) a chovají se jak rozmazlení fakani, už během prvních pár minut si začnete oblibovat každého. Ať už je to zprvu mrcha Blair, ještě větší mrcha Serenina matka, nebo Blairin slizký kámoš Chuck, všechny postavy bez ohledu na to, jestli jsou hodné nebo zlé, musíte milovat. Jsou prostě bezva. Něco takového jsem nezažil od Velmi nebezpečných známostí, k nimž se ostatně jako k jedinému filmu dá Gossip Girl přirovnat. Jen musíte přidat pár lžiček cukru. Já osobně se díky Gossip Girl už nebudu bát sladit.
